 Meghan Markle and her family are settling into their quiet lives in Britain. 

On Sunday, Oct. 11, the Duchess of Sussex, 45, shared a video on her Instagram stories  featuring her and Prince Harry's  children, Prince Archie and pppppPrincees Lilibet,  strolling down a shaded path in the English countryside. 

While Archie, 7, appears to be riding a scooter, Lilibet, 5, can be seen trailing behind him as a group of wild deer pass by in the distance. The family’s black Labrador retriever, Pula, also trotted along while occasionally pausing to sniff the grass.  

While they are maintaining their home in Montecito, Calif., and their vacation property in Portugal, Meghan and Harry decided to establish a private, non-royal home base in Britain shortly after their Children reunited with their grand father , King Charles , for the first time in more than four years. 

The couple relocatedto Meghans's home state in 2020  after stepping back from their royal duties. 

The King was made aware of the couple’s plans to return to the U.K. and welcomed the opportunity to see more of the Sussex family in a private and personal capacity, PEOPLE understands.

In a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, Sept. 13, Meghan shared a first glimpse into her family’s life in England. 

The clip opens with Meghan and Harry walking hand in hand outdoors before transitioning to scenes of what appear to be Lilibet’s feet warming by a fireplace and Meghan, wearing Wellies, splashing through a muddy puddle. Later on, Lilibet could be seen riding a bicycle as Archie ran alongside her yelling, “Go! Go!” 

Wham’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” then kicks in as the montage continues with more scenes of the family enjoying the outdoors, including Harry, Archie and Lilibet fishing together on a boat.

 The Duke of Sussex shares how a technique used with military veterans helped him reconnect with memories of his late mother in a new Master Class about grief.

  In a new Master Class about grief, the Duke of Sussex, 42, recalls how years of shutting down his emotions following Diana’s death left him struggling to remember even the sound of her voice and laugh.

  “I forgot what my mom sounded like. I forgot her laugh. I couldn’t really visualize what she looked like without looking at a photograph of her,” Harry says. Years later, Harry’s therapist introduced him to a technique he had previously seen used with military veterans experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD): using familiar scents to help access memories affected by trauma.

• For Harry, that meant revisiting the scent of his mother’s favorite perfume, First by Van Cleef & Arpels, a floral fragrance he previously identified in his 2023 memoir, Spare.

  “It was like being transported to another time,” he recalls. “It unlocked everything that had been locked previously. There was still the wall there, the emotional and mental wall that I built up, where everything good and bad was on the other side of the wall. But spraying my mother’s scent was almost like knocking certain bricks through, so that I could see through and certain memories and experiences could start seeping through.”

  The revelation comes in  Redefining Grief : Builiding Resilience Through Loss, a new Master  Class in which Harry joins neuroscientist Dr. Mary-Frances O’Connor to explore how grief affects the brain and body.

  PEOPLE has learned that Master Class approached Harry last year about developing a class centered on grief. The program was filmed in California early this summer and debuted on Oct. 8, ahead of World Mental Health Day on Oct. 10. It benefits two bereavement charities, Comfort Zone Camp and Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a longtime cause of Harry’s.

• Harry was just 12 years old when his mother died in Paris car crash  in 1997. He and his brother, Prince William, famously walked behind their mother’s coffin during her public funeral procession through London.

  “Looking back on it now, I felt as though, you know, my brother and I were intermediaries for these people’s grief towards our mother, and they were showing more emotion than we could,” Harry recalls.“It felt very, very strange for the hundreds of hands that we shook to be soaking wet with tears that they wiped away from their own faces. I almost felt guilty that I was unable to show the same emotion as these people who were crying for someone they’d never even met.”

• O’Connor explains in the MasterClass why scent can be such a powerful trigger for memory, noting its connection to the amygdala and hippocampus, areas of the brain involved in emotion and memory.

  “What’s important about that is, when you’re doing exposure because of grief, the thing that you’re being exposed to is that the person is not coming back...that they really are gone and you’re going to be okay,” she says.

  “There are moments in grief where it is really difficult to remember them...but scent just cuts through all of that.”

• For Harry, reconnecting with memories of Diana became part of a broader journey toward allowing himself to experience happiness without feeling that he was leaving his mother behind.

  “I’d spent so long emotionally numb, to a large extent, because I felt disloyal and guilty for the possibility of being happy and joyful without her,” he shares. “I felt like I had to be sad and I had to be emotionally numb in order to prove to her that I missed her.”

• “But the reality is, what I discovered was actually that she just wanted me to be happy. And that was a huge mental shift for me. It freed me, and it gave me a whole different outlook on life.”

  Today, Harry says his family and charitable work have given him a meaningful way to carry Diana’s legacy forward.

  “Everything I do, everything I put my energy towards, I hope that my mother will be proud about it,” he says. “Trying to continue and protect her legacy, what I didn’t realize was the work that I ended up choosing, or the work that I ended up getting drawn in and attracted to, was so similar to the work that she was doing.

Sandringham, the private country estate of Charles, 77, and  Queen Camilla is less than two miles away from Cain’s home, PEOPLE previously reported. 

  The 45-year-old is believed to have treated senior members of the royal family, including Camilla, 79, while they were at Sandringham.

  Sources told the outlet that Charles and Camilla had been informed of Cain’s death.

• Cain worked as a doctor at Grimston Medical Centre, per U.K. outlets The Times and the Telegraph   which is just five miles from Sandringham.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 6, 45-year-old Mark Cain was charged with the murder of Hannah , who was found dead at a property in Dersingham, England, on Sunday, Oct. 4, per a Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) press release and Norfolk Police news release.           

  According to The Times and The Telegraph, Mark was Hannah’s husband. The Times reports that they shared three sons who were born in 2013, 2015 and 2018.

• On Wednesday, Hannah’s family paid tribute to her in a statement shared by police, saying they were “devastated by the loss of our beautiful Hannah.”

  “She was kind, generous and loving; a beloved mother, daughter, sister, auntie, daughter-in-law and friend,” the statement read. “We are incredibly proud of the woman she was and of the great care she took of all her patients who knew her as Dr Terry. We would ask people to respect our privacy at this difficult time.”

  A previous note on Grimston Medical Centre’s website   read, “We are sorry to let patients know that Grimston Medical Centre is temporarily closed due to extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team.”

  It added, “We apologize for the disruption and appreciate your patience and understanding at what  is a very difficult time for our colleagues.”

  The medical practice reopened on Wednesday and shared in an updated statement,  “The practice will not be commenting on the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of our colleague, Dr Hannah Terry. Any official updates will come from Norfolk Police.”

Posted by As Ever with the caption: "The season of giving is almost here, and we have a few surprises in store", the image immediately got people talking, with many making similar remarks about Meghan.

Although comments were disabled beneath Meghan's post, this did little to quell the chatter, as the image was swiftly reposted on X, sparking a flurry of debate with remarkably similar observations.

Highlighting the alleged gaffe, one social media user wrote: "If you're going to pretend as ifthird remarked: "Have no words, besides absolutely hilarious." Meanwhile, a fourth observed: "It's like NO ONE knows what they're doing. It's absurd."

Another also pointed out: "She’s making Pretend Stew." In the photograph, which appeared on the As Ever page, it seemed there was no visible flame beneath the pot on the hob. However, some observers proved rather more understanding. One suggested: "That woman was just pretending to cook for a photoshoot."

Mother Teresa was a Roman Catholic saint and whenever her name comes up, one is reminded of unconditional love, compassion and selfless service to those in need. Born as Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu in 1910, she developed strong religious inclinations at the young age of 18. She came to India in 1929 and spent a good number of years teaching history and geography at a convent school in Calcutta.

On a train journey in 1946, she saw poverty and suffering and this is what evoked a realization in her that she wants to live among those in need in slums and help them. She eventually went on to found the Missionaries of Charity and her motto in life became to care for the hungry, homeless, cripples and all those people who felt unwanted, unloved and uncared for.

Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for alleviating suffering from the lives of many people. She became a symbol of peace and humanitarianism. Her words continue to inspire many and shall always do. Once she said, “If you judge people, you have no time to love them.”

No Royal Duties for Sussex's

 King Charles sent a clear message following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to Britain: they remain private citizens and will not undertake official royal duties. Their return to the country does not mean a return to the Royal Family as working royals.

At the King’s direction, the Lord Chamberlain sent an official letter to selected senior figures across government, the military and the Lord Lieutenancies, confirming that there has been no change to the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The official letter reiterates that, since January 2020, the couple have ceased carrying out official duties on behalf of the Sovereign and are not working members of the Royal Family.

Their HRH styles remain in abeyance and are not used. Their charitable activities are considered private and are carried out solely in their personal capacity.

Harry and Meghan’s office will continue to operate separately from the Royal Household, while any matters relating to their security should be directed to the relevant authorities.

The letter was sent following the couple’s return to Britain for an extended stay, after a number of requests for clarification regarding their status.

While the letter confirms that there has been no change to their official status, Prince Harry was also seen publicly in London following his return, visiting Tower Bridge Studios in central London.

While the Duchess of Sussex is believed to be ‘in talks’ for a new acting role, she is also continuing to work on her lifestyle brand As Ever.

To celebrate the new chapter of their lives, Meghan announced that her brand would be selling a new sparkling win within a matter of days. The Duchess shared two photos of the new tipple in a bucket of ice alongside a caption about the new bubbly.

She wrote: “A new chapter to celebrate. Introducing our Reserve Brut. Crafted in the traditional Méthode Champenoise and sourced from Napa Valley, this elegant sparkling wine was made for gathering, toasting, and savouring life’s beautiful moments. Available 9/3.”

The Reserve Brut marks the latest addition to As Ever’s drinks line-up, with Meghan’s brand previously launching a Napa Valley rosé that reportedly sold out within an hour in the US.

It is believed that while she is now based in the UK, the sparkling wine - like her other As Ever products - won’t be available for a UK audience to buy, as the brand only ships to the United States.

Sussex sources would not reveal where they will be enrolled, nor where the family will be living, citing privacy and security reasons.

It is unclear if they have bought their UK home or will rent.

Harry has previously claimed it was unsafe to bring his family back home. He has fought a multi-million pound legal campaign to force the Government to return his 24-hour armed guards.

After a devastating court loss  18 months ago  he said: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”

 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning an extended move back to the United Kingdom from the United States, six years after stepping down from royal duties. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are enrolled in British schools for the term starting in September, and the family will live in a private residence outside London. 

The   King and entire Royal Family has been blindsided by Prince Harry  and Meghan’s bombshell plans to move back to the UK - with Charles only told about them three days ago, royal sources have said.

The Sussexes are returning to the UK later this month – making their home in a non-royal residence outside of London – and have already enrolled Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in British schools. It is understood Harry and Meghan's plans would have been months in the making, however the King, who has had a rocky relationship with his younger son, was only made aware of the move on Sunday.

They are expected to remain financially independent and continue their commercial and charitable work, while Harry is not expected to undertake official royal duties. They are retaining their home in Montecito, California as well as their holiday home in Portugal.

The King is expected to head to Balmoral any day now, and preparations for his arrival are well underway.

The Castle doors have now closed to members of the public, the residence announced on Monday, though the gift shop and cafe will remain open during certain hours.

The grounds are expected to reopen for autumn from early October.

Balmoral has been a beloved residence for the royal family for generations, and it's where the late Queen Elizabeth II spent her final days. 

Prince Albert first purchased the estate, which is nestled within the Cairngorms National Park, for Queen Victoria in 1852. 

It now serves as a private sanctuary for the royals to spend their summer in the Scottish Highlands each year.

It was confirmed at the start of August that the King had left England and would slowly be making his way to Balmoral. 

He began with a trip to the Mey Highland Games, where he got into the spirit by enjoying a dram of whisky. He also visited Caithness in the Scottish Highlands. 

The King was most recently seen in public in Dingwall in the Scottish Highlands last Friday, meeting locals while wearing a traditional Scottish kilt. 

Every year, the King and Queen retreat to the 50,000-acre estate Balmoral in Aberdeenshire. Typically, other members of the royal family will come to visit, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children. 

The King and Queen usually stay at Birkhall, an 18th-century home in the grounds, so that the main castle can be used for larger family gatherings.

The Prime Minister also tends to visit the monarch for a weekend retreat in the late summer, meaning Andy Burnham may stay there for the first time in his new role.

Meghan Markle hits back after Martha Stewart said duchess dropped dinner party gossip about trip to King Charles - as insider claims cooking star 'must have been confused'

Meghan Markle has denied chatting about her reunion with the King at a California  dinner party attended by fellow lifestyle guru  Martha Stewart,

Ms Stewart, whom some claim Meghan wants to usurp as the world's best-known homemaker, said the former actress had been briefing fellow diners about her family's trip to the UK to see Prince  Harry's father at a recent soiree.

But a source close to the Duchess of Sussex claimed Martha 'must have been confused' because the pair were not seated near one another.

She claimed Meghan was openly 'talking about' her visit to Highgrove to see KIng Charles.

'I know she was,' she insisted.

Last month, the Sussexes had a private family reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House during a chaotic trip to the UK. 

Harry had reportedly agreed not to speak publicly about the visit and that no photographs would be shared. Meghan's Instagram post on the trip shared a number of intimate family moments - but nothing from Highgrove.

Today, a source close to the Duchess insisted she did not discuss the UK visit at all, saying only that she had enjoyed a nice holiday in Europe.

The insider said: 'Meghan was asked by someone else about her European vacation and said it was nice, and that was the extent of it. I think she must have been confused.'

Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'furious at security double standard'

 

The Sussexes are said to be frustrated as officials reportedly think giving them UK security would be too much of a political risk

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly angry  Catherine Princess of Wales's sister, Pippa Middleton, was given permission to improve security around her home. The 42-year-old, her husband, hedge fund manager James Matthews, 50, and their three children live at Barton Court, a £16.75million,  145 acre estate  in Berkshire. The Sussexes are said to think that this is a "double standard", as civil servants from the Home Office, the Cabinet Office and the Foreign Office are reportedly opposed to granting the couple taxpayer-funded protection whenever they are in the UK because it would carry too much political risk. 

"There are implications for my family, due to their high public profile, which means there is a need for a higher level of security than would otherwise be the case if the circumstances were different," Matthews said, according to Sky News  "Therefore, to improve security for my family, before we moved in, I arranged for an electric security gate to be erected on the drive." "Unfortunately there has been a continued need to enhance security," he added.❤

 Prince William has sparked controversy with a somewhat lukewarm endorsement of the Church of England, which he will one day govern, after it was revealed he has a 'quiet faith'.

However, if the future King is in need of a spiritual boost, he need look no further for inspiration than his wife and sister-in-law Meghan Markle who have both leaned into their religious beliefs to manage some of life's greatest obstacles.

The  Prince of Wales reportedly used her faith as a tool while she navigated her cancer  diagnosis, while   King Charles also used his relationship with the church to manage his respective health battle.

Meanwhile, prior to meeting  Prince Hurry  and converting into the Church of England, Meghan Markle, who was raised Protestant, would gather her Suits co-stars for a prayer circle before filming.

According to Meghan's old school friend Ninaki Priddy, it was God who got the  Duchess of Sussex  through her 'darkest moments'.

It comes as the Prince of Wales has revealed his commitment to the Church of England, despite not being a regular churchgoer.

Days before attending the Archbishop of Canterbury's enthronement, William for the first time confirmed his wish to forge 'a strong and meaningful bond with the Church and its leadership'.

While the British monarch is required to be an Anglican to serve as the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, other members of the Firm are not bound to a particular religion.
