King Charles and Queen Camilla Informed of Royal Family Doctor’s Killing: Report

 

  • Dr. Hannah Terry, also known as Hannah Cain, was found dead at her home near King Charles and Queen Camilla’s Sandringham estate on Sunday, Oct. 4
  • Her husband, Mark Cain, has been charged with her murder and remains in custody
  • The mother of three was a doctor for the royal family and treated Queen Camilla, according to a report.

    Hannah Cain, known professionally as Dr. Hannah Terry, served in a pool of doctors who were regularly on call for members of the royal family, U.K. newspaper  The sun  reported. Sandringham, the private country estate of Charles, 77, and  Queen Camilla is less than two miles away from Cain’s home, PEOPLE previously reported. 

    The 45-year-old is believed to have treated senior members of the royal family, including Camilla, 79, while they were at Sandringham.

    Sources told the outlet that Charles and Camilla had been informed of Cain’s death.

  • Cain worked as a doctor at Grimston Medical Centre, per U.K. outlets The Times and the Telegraph   which is just five miles from Sandringham. 

    PEOPLE reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment. 

  • On Tuesday, Oct. 6, 45-year-old Mark Cain was charged with the murder of Hannah , who was found dead at a property in Dersingham, England, on Sunday, Oct. 4, per a Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) press release and Norfolk Police news release.           

    According to The Times and The Telegraph, Mark was Hannah’s husband. The Times reports that they shared three sons who were born in 2013, 2015 and 2018.

  • On Wednesday, Hannah’s family paid tribute to her in a statement shared by police, saying they were “devastated by the loss of our beautiful Hannah.”

    “She was kind, generous and loving; a beloved mother, daughter, sister, auntie, daughter-in-law and friend,” the statement read. “We are incredibly proud of the woman she was and of the great care she took of all her patients who knew her as Dr Terry. We would ask people to respect our privacy at this difficult time.”

    A previous note on Grimston Medical Centre’s website   read, “We are sorry to let patients know that Grimston Medical Centre is temporarily closed due to extremely difficult circumstances affecting our practice team.”

    It added, “We apologize for the disruption and appreciate your patience and understanding at what  is a very difficult time for our colleagues.”

    The medical practice reopened on Wednesday and shared in an updated statement,  “The practice will not be commenting on the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of our colleague, Dr Hannah Terry. Any official updates will come from Norfolk Police.”
