There was a time when Prince William was very close to his brother Prince Harry, but that's all believed to have changed following tension between their wives

Price Harry and Prince William were very close growing up, but the brothers have become estranged in recent years.

The  Duke of Sussex has been very vocal about  the breakdown of his relationship with his brother, even accusing William of "screaming and shouting" at him during one dramatic showdown. And it's not just the Prince of Wales Harry has taken aim at.

He's also hit out at William's wife Princess Kate  and accused her of making  Meghan Markle cry just days before the  Sussexes tied the knot. Meghan and Kate are not close and it's thought this tension has rubbed off on Harry and William.

Royal expert and author Tom Quinn told The Mirror: "It’s extraordinary when you think how close William and Harry were as children, and in their early teens, but their marriages, to very different women, changed the chemistry of the relationship, and there is no going back.

"Growing up in the royal family with all the deference the two boys experienced has produced two very proud men – neither is prepared to back down and be the first to extend an olive branch. This is partly because they both feel special - as if being a member of the royal family is an achievement rather than a matter of the luck of birth, but it also has to do with losing their mother when they were so young."

Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997, while her driver was fleeing paparazzi. At the time, William was 15 years old, while Harry was just 12.

Tom said: "I spoke to a former Kensington Palace staffer who said both William and Harry's emotional development stopped when their mother died. So, they don't have the emotional maturity now to let bygones be bygones."

William and Harry last appeared in public at the same time during King Charles's Coronation last May. However, the pair didn't interact at the ceremony. Harry also didn't see his brother when he made a brief return to the UK last month.

The Duke of Sussex flew to London from California after his father King Charles was diagnosed with cancer. The pair sat down for a half-hour conversation, but Harry and William didn't reunite.

A source told The Mirror there was "nothing in the diary" for them to meet, with William reportedly focusing completely on Princess Kate's surgery recovery. However, another insider said Harry would have welcomed the chance to see his brother if possible. They said: "The Duke's primary reason to travel to the UK is to visit his father. If the opportunity were to arise to see the Prince of Wales then the Duke would have gladly accepted it."

Let's put it this way. Of the late Queen's eight grandchildren, five (William, Beatrice, Eugenie, Peter and Zara) all have university degrees, and a sixth, Lady Louise, is currently studying at St Andrews. Of the other two, James is only fifteen and still at school. That just leaves Harry, who despite being a pupil at one of England's most prestigious schools, failed to get the academic qualifications needed for university entrance. It seems more than likely that strings were pulled to get him into Sandhurst, Britain's elite military academy. Even his mother said he wasn't very bright. The fact that he's not intellectually gifted, however, wouldn't affect whether he was liked or not. People can't help the IQ they were born with. It's his whining, spiteful, vindictive actions that get him disliked, not his intellectual abilities or lack of them.

People keep saying Prince Harry isn't the brightest bulb in the box. Is this something someone said and everyone started repeating it because most of us don't like him? Or is there some basis in fact for this (aside from who he married)?

None of the royal family is particularly academically gifted. I suspect neither the King nor Prince William would have got into the prestigious universities they attended if they hadn’t been who they were. However, what they both seem to have is what our late Queen had in spades, and that’s wisdom, which is very different, takes longer to acquire, and is much more valuable in their roles. The King has always been known for his enquiring mind, and while his passion for the environment was initially mocked, he’s shown that he was perceptive ahead of his time. Prince William seems to be of a similar mould, with (I hope) a good dose of emotional intelligence learned from his mother (her own personal life may have been a mess but she was brilliant at interacting with the public).

It’s a shame Prince Harry left the armed forces, as it really seemed that he’d found his place. Even if he couldn’t remain on active service, I think he’d have made a great figurehead and ambassador (the first Invictus Games were a tremendous success), but he would have needed the wisdom to recognise his strengths and weaknesses. Unfortunately I don’t think he has a great deal of wisdom, and with all due respect to the USA, I don’t think California is the right place to learn any.

heard from friends in the Household Cavalry that the Queen was advised that it was unlikely that Harry would be able to pass the Army promotion exam to the rank of Major. That meant he would be unlikely to progress beyond captain. Therefore, to avoid embarrassment, it would be politic for him to leave the Army without taking the exam. He could, of course, continue to hold ceremonial appointments, like Captain General of the Royal Marines. However, because of his stupidity, he blew that as well by his disloyalty to the Queen. Because of this, the Royal Marines asked for him to be removed.

It’s the same in most military forces. You can be as incompetent as you like, but if you are disloyal you will be shunned.

He appears to have some type of disability, just look at when he was young and see his behaviour. We have all been around a child that does not seem right and I think he has some traits. Anyway, who really cares, it is time we all get on with our own lives!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s ‘secret desire’ for King Charles to grant royal return

 Prince Harry  and  Meghan Markle  have been tipped to return as part-time royals,  with an expert  believing it would ""bolster  their brand.

The late Queen Elizabeth II reportedly told Harry he would have to be "in or out" with there being no room for "half jobs" during a crisis Sandringham meeting in early 2020, which was called when the news broke of the Duke of Sussex leaving the Firm.

Royal author Tom Quinn told  The Mirror the Sussexes appear to have a secret desire to return: "Meghan and Harry had always hoped that when Queen Elizabeth died, Charles would take a less strict view of what it means to be a working Royal."

He said Meghan "would have loved this", adding: "Six months in the UK as a working Royal followed by six months in the States would bolster brand Sussex which is less and less interesting without the working Royal angle."

Prince Harry and  Meghan Markle, the Duke and Dutchess of Sussex, made their latest joke at the expense of the late Queen Elizabeth II as they enjoyed a barbeque in Texas on a recent visit, but what exactly did they do?

The couple were present for the SCSW Conference that featured Markle as a panelist discussing how the internet can affect lives on International Women's Day called Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen.

But afterwards they headed out to try some authentic Lone Star State food by going for a barbeque, which is where their joke at the Prince's grandmother came from, according to Cory Rivademar speaking to PEOPLE.

Upon seeing a mural of the legendary Freddie Mercury, dressed as Queen Elizabeth II in a reference to his own band, Queen, Prince Harry joked, "We should take a picture in front of this."

Meghan loved the BBQ

The food is perhaps not what Prince Harry is accustomed to, after spending a life growing up in the British elites but according to his wife, they both loved it and called it the best BBQ they'd ever had.

The pair left a good impression too, with Rivademar noting that they looked happy together.

"I thought they seemed happy and sweet, he's very lovely," Rivademar said. "She spoke about their kid loving the new Disney movie, Wish.

"Very genuine and very loving. Happy couple. Nice to people who didn't even know what was going on."

Markle sounds as though she is in love too, as speaking at the conference she praised her husband for his support and his commitment to their family.

"I'm fortunate in that, among the privileges I have in my life, I have an incredible partner," Markle said at the conference. "My husband is such a hands-on dad and such a supporter of me and my family.

"That I don't take for granted. That is a real blessing."

Meghan Markle puts on a stunning display in a $2,000 silky ensemble as she takes center stage at SXSW for star-studded International Women's Day panel - as adoring Prince Harry watches on from the first row

 Meghan Markle put her most fashionable foot forward as she marked International Women's Day in true Hollywood style by appearing on a celebrity - studded panel at SXSW  while her  husband Prince Harry cheered her on  from the front row.

(SXSW is an annual festival that celebrates the convergence of technology, film, music, education and culture, and runs from March 8 to March 16 )

The 42-year-old Duchess of Sussex joined actress Brooke Shields and longtime news anchor Katie Couric on-stage at the prestigious festival, where she was leading a panel discussion about 'breaking barriers' and 'women's representation'. 

Beaming with pride as she walked out on stage, having been introduced to the crowd as Megan, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan then took her seat alongside her fellow panelists for the discussion - during which she candidly opened up about the "hatred' she received while pregnant  her children.  

The Duchess of Sussex, who traveled to Austin from her $14.65 million home in Montecito on Thursday, looked radiant in a silver-beige $1,000 Giuliva Heritage silk maxi skirt and matching $975 button-up shirt, a look that she accessorized with some chunky gold earrings.  

Throughout the panel discussion, Harry, 39, was seen gazing up at his wife from the front row, joining his fellow guests in applauding Meghan - whom he joined for a date night on Thursday at the Austin venue of private members' club Soho House.  

Prince Harry was joined in the front row by the couple's very close friend, Soho House mogul Markus Anderson, who was instrumental in bringing the Sussexes together in the early days of their relationship.  

The Duchess began by gushing about her 'excitement' to be joining the panel, before going on to tout the many female-focused initiatives that she and Prince Harry work on through their nonprofit, the Archewell Foundation.   

'I’m so excited to be here and to be with such incredible women, so much brilliance on this panel and this is just such an amazing way to celebrate International Women's Day,' she said. 

She then went on to discuss a wide range of topics, including: 

• Hatred she has received on social media, particularly when she was pregnant with her children, Archie and Lilibet 
• The need for more inclusivity and accurate representation of women and mothers in media  
• Fighting to protect children and young people from dangers of social media while praising Prince Harry for being an 'incredible partner' and 'hands-on' dad
• Retold her story about leading campaign to change 'sexist' soap commercial when she was 11 years old

• FIGHTING FOR BETTER REPRESENTATION OF MOTHERS IN MEDIA

• When asked about the Archewell Foundation's decision to fund a recent report calling for 'true representation' for mothers on TV, Meghan explained that she and Harry had chosen to get involved with the project for 'three key reasons'. 

  'My husband and I, our foundation helped to fund it because I think from our standpoint, and certainly from mine, there are three key reasons why it felt vital to see the information they were going to be pulling from this report,' she said. 

  'On a personal level, I’ve just always loved understanding women and our stories and our lived experiences and our shared experiences so I was really curious to see what the report was going to uncover. 

  'Oftentimes as women, the way that we see ourselves is reflected back to us, sometimes accurately, and sometimes, much to our disservice, inaccurately, in what we see in media. 

  'So to be able to have the findings to uncover what we can do to propel that, to make sure women are really feeling seen in a way that is reflective of who and how we are and how we move through the world, felt important. 

  'From a philanthropic standpoint with our foundation, there is obviously a lot of work to be done in supporting women and moms. You can begin with paid leave.'

  She went on to note that Archewell's production arm is focusing more on its own representation of women and mothers 'as it expands its slate' of projects, both on-screen and in podcasting. 

  Meghan has her own female-focused podcast, Archetypes, which began as part of the Sussexes' lucrative deal with Spotify, but has since moved to Lemonade Media, after the couple parted ways with the popular streaming company.

 Meghan went on to open up about the hatred she received online while pregnant with her children, Archie, now four, and Lilibet, now two. 

'I keep my distance from [social media] right now for my wellbeing but the bulk of the bullying and abuse I was experiencing in social media and online was when I was pregnant with Archie and with Lili, and with a newborn, with each of them,' she said after being asked about the trolling she has faced.

'You just think about that and to wrap your head about why people would be so hateful. it's not catty it's cruel. Why you would do that when you're pregnant or as a mom at such a tender and sacred time.' 

She questioned how anyone could 'do that' to a an expectant or new mother - noting that much of the vitriol she was seeing online was coming from women trying to take down other women. 

'[It's] women completely spewing that to other women and I cannot make sense of that,' Meghan continued. 

MEGHAN PRAISES HARRY FOR BEING AN 'INCREDIBLE PARTNER' AND A 'HANDS-ON' DAD 

Having discussed the toll that online 'hatred' had on her throughout her pregnancies and in the early stages of motherhood, Meghan went on to discuss the ways in which the Archewell Foundation is working to ensure that women and mothers can feel safer and more supported online. 

While opening up about the 'dizzying' impact that social media can have on a new mom, Meghan praised the 'support' that she receives from Prince Harry, describing him as an 'incredible partner' and a 'hands-on dad' to their two kids.  

'The effect that social media can have a new mothers... even just the lack of sleep because they spend all this time scrolling and scrolling,' she said. 

'But it can also be really dizzying for them to see this portrayal of motherhood that looks so perfect, when we all know that it's not perfect. We all know that it's messy. 

'I'm fortunate in that amongst the privileges that I have in my life, I have an incredible partner. My husband is such a hands-on dad and such a supporter of me and of my family, and that I don't take for granted, that is a real blessing. 

'But a lot of people don't have that same level of support. So for us, it's just trying to put the safeguards in so women, and moms especially, can not feel like they're even more vulnerable when they go online, so they can somehow feel like they are going to a safer place.'

Prince Harry 'puts pressure' on Meghan with latest request causing 'tension' in marriage

 Prince Harry and Meghan's marriage is reportedly heading for troubled waters over his plans to temporarily return to the UK, according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex will fly from his Montecito home in Los Angeles and return to his native country to host an event this year to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which support wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.

Harry wants Meghan to be by his side for his brief visit back to the UK. However, this has reportedly clashed with his wife's wishes as the 42-year-old previously vowed never to return to British shores.

The former Suits actress has attracted widespread attention and criticism in the UK after marrying Prince Harry in May 2018, and it appears she has no intention of going back to the UK after their fallout with the rest of the Royal Family.According to royal commentator Tom Quinn, Harry is reportedly putting "pressure" on Meghan to return to the UK for the Invictus Games, and his request has created some 'tension' in their marriage.

A difficult time for Harry and Meghan

It is believed Harry could insist on only Meghan travelling with him, with their children Archie, four, and Lilibet, two, remaining in the U.S.

But Quinn went on to claim it is "causing huge tension in the couple's relationship" due to Meghan's stubborn stance.

Omid Scobie's book Endgame tells us that Meghan never wants to visit the UK again, but she now realises with the games coming up and her father-in-law seriously ill that you should never say never," he added.

On his last visit back home, the Prince reportedly had a huge row with Queen Camilla and left after 30 minutes of visiting his father, King Charles, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

"The Invictus Games - it's one of the few areas of Harry's life where he feels on firm ground," Quinn told The Mirror.

"There's no doubt that helping disabled soldiers is a good thing, and it's something that Harry has tried to do without it becoming all about him, so it's good for brand Sussex but only if Meghan is also there. So he is definitely putting pressure on her to join him."
